The members of this group combine prayer with fellowship and friendship, while working on hobbies they enjoy: knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. Completed items are blessed before being put to use. Several members of the group crochet the white garments given during infant Baptisms In our parish.
This group is devoted to supporting vocations to the priesthood and religious life through prayer, special programs, and financial support. There is a monthly meeting which usually begins with Adoration and the Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary.
The Salina group works closely with the Diocesan Vocations Office. A part of Vocatio is the “31 Club” in which participants dedicate themselves to one day a month of focused prayer for vocations at Adoration or Mass. Let us pray for all vocations--to the priesthood, religious life, marriage, consecrated virginity, and single life.
Prayer for Vocations:
Lord God, in Your tender mercies You give Your holy people every good gift. We turn to You today in our need, asking that You bless our Diocese with an abundance of vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Inspire us with Your Holy Spirit to help young men and women hear Your call and respond with joyful hearts. We also ask that You bless our priests and all who serve us in the Church today. May they now every grace and joy as You bring to completion the many good works begun in them. We ask this in faith, through Christ our Lord. Amen. (Diocese of Salina vocations prayer)
